Wastewater Plant Engineering Begins
December 10, 2010
The Marengo City Council ratified an agreement with McMahon last month to engineer a wastewater treatment plant upgrade from 900,000 gallons per day to 2,250,000. This new plant is estimated to cost $11.5 million. To help pay for the cost McMahon will submit an application for an Illinois Environmental Protection Agency revolving loans at a 1.25% interest rate. This large capital investment is critical to increasing Marengo’s capacity to grow. It is also an open invitation for businesses to consider Marengo as their home as the city intends to grow.
